The Honda Classic isn't one of the PGA Tour's new "designated events," but the purse still got a boost this year. The total payout was $8.4 million, up from $8 million in 2022 and $7 million in 2021.

Veteran Chris Kirk was the biggest beneficiary, winning for the first time in more than seven years on the PGA Tour. He defeated Eric Cole with a birdie on the first playoff hole.

Kirk's last win was the 2015 Charles Schwab Challenge. According to the PGA Tour, the last player to go seven-plus years between victories was Lucas Glover, when he won the 2021 John Deere Classic for his first win in 10 years.
