One of the summer traditions on the PGA Tour is the trip to Dublin, Ohio, and Jack Nicklaus's Muirfield Village Golf Club. Since 1976, Jack's place has hosted one of the most popular stops on Tour, and this year's edition has a little more juice.

The 2023 Memorial Tournament has elevated status, meaning a $20 million purse and $3.6 million to the winner. It's the last elevated event before the season's third major, the U.S. Open at Los Angeles Country Club from June 15-18.

Not that the elevated status is needed to lure the golf's best to the Memorial, but it doesn't hurt. Sixteen of the top 20 in the Official World Golf Ranking (and 16 of the top 20 in the SI World Golf Ranking) are scheduled to appear, with only Max Homa and Tony Finau not playing among those eligible.

Billy Horschel returns to defend his title and other past champions in the field include Patrick Cantlay, Jon Rahm, Hideki Matsuyama and Matt Kuchar.
