2023 Wyndham Championship Full Field: Last Chance for a Playoff Push

The three-event FedEx Cup postseason begins next week but only for the top 70 players, meaning it's crunch time for many at Sedgefield.

The 2022-23 PGA Tour regular season—the last of its kind—concludes this week with the Wyndham Championship, and there is much more on the line than just the $7.6 million purse.

Only the top 70 in the standings qualify for the first playoff event, the FedEx St. Jude Championship, which has a $20 million purse. Then the top 50 make it to the BMW and another $20 million purse. The top 30 there qualify for the season-ending Tour Championship, where then $75 million FedEx Cup bonus pool will be distributed.

The majority of the field this week at Sedgefield Country Club sits outside the top 70, but a win (or a near-win for some) will punch a playoff ticket.

Justin Thomas is the highest-profile man in the field outside the top 70, playing this week after missing the cut at the 3M Open. Shane Lowry, Adam Scott and Gary Woodland are major champions also in the field and needing to play their way into the top 70.

Defending champion Tom Kim is solidly in the playoffs and taking the week off, as are many other top players who don't have to worry about their postseason hopes.

The purse at the Wyndham Championship is $7.6 million.
