The arena that will be used for TGL, the tech-infused golf league being launched by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, suffered damage on Tuesday night due to the failure of a temporary power system, meaning the dome structure had to be deflated.

There were no injuries and it is unclear if the this will impact the launch of TGL, which is scheduled for Jan. 9 at the SoFi Center, which is on the campus of Palm Beach State College in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.

A TGL representative said in a statement that the accident's effect on timelines for the league is not known yet.

"An overnight failure to the temporary power system used during the construction phase caused deflation and damage to the air-supported dome section of the site," according to a statement from TMRW Sports. "At this time, while we assess the damage, it is too early to determine the impact on our timelines. There were no injuries, and no technology was impacted. Other work on site is continuing."

TGL has been rolling out various aspects of its two-hour production that will have six teams of four players who will play across several weeks into late March.

An air-supported dome is under construction for Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy's simulator Golf League, TGL, at Palm Beach State College's PGA Boulevard campus in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., on Oct. 12, 2023.

The air-supported dome is approximately 250,000 square feet and will allow for an oversized simulator that will have a 46-by-64-foot screen for players to hit shots along with various other aspects including greens and bunkers. It is expected to seat 2,000 people.
