Brian Harman Had the Perfect Plan for How He’ll Celebrate His British Open Win

Harman had some ideas for what he’s going to do with the Claret Jug.

With a dominant six-shot victory at the British Open, Brian Harman surely has some celebrations in store when he returns home to Georgia. 

The 36-year-old cruised to his first major championship victory on Sunday at Royal Liverpool, drilling clutch putts without revealing a hint of emotion. But when it came time to accept the Claret Jug and the official title of Champion Golfer of the Year, Harman gave viewers a hint of how he might reflect on the win later on Sunday night.

Speaking on the 18th green at Hoylake, Harman thanked his wife and family for their support, but also added a line that got an animated reactions from the surrounding crowd.

“First, I’m gonna have me a couple pints out of this here trophy, I believe,” Harman said. 

Harman might not have had the same spectator support as some of the local favorites in the field this week, but the perfectly relatable comment surely helped him gain a few more fans across the pond Sunday afternoon.
