Dustin Johnson Has Hilarious Answer for Why He Won’t Watch Netflix’s ‘Full Swing’

The LIV golfer had a succinct, but classic response when asked if he’ll watch the new PGA Tour documentary series.

Dustin Johnson gave a classic DJ answer when a reporter asked him if he’s had the chance to watch Netflix’s Full Swing ahead of LIV Golf’s first event of the season.

Speaking from Mayakoba, Mexico, Johnson sat beside his 4Aces teammates—Pat Perez, Patrick Reed and Peter Uihlein—when a member of the media asked if he’d seen the episode of the newly released documentary series that features him and his family.

The two-time major champion had a very succinct answer.

“I have not,” Johnson said.

Pushing a bit more, Johnson was then asked, “Will you watch it?”

The LIV Golf member did not waver.

“Probably not. I’m just being honest.”

In one last attempt to extract a more elaborate answer from Johnson—who is known for his matter-of-fact approach to press conferences—a reporter asked, “No interest in watching it at all?”

Johnson’s final answer made his stance even clearer than it was already and the logic behind it marked a classic DJ train of thought.

“Zero. I watched them film me, so I don’t need to watch the episode.”

Episode 5 of Full Swing highlights both Johnson and Matt Fitzpatrick as they contend at the 2022 U.S. Open. Johnson details his decision to join the Saudi-backed LIV Golf league and explains what motivated the shift in his career path. The episode gives an inside look at Johnson’s life outside of the golf course as well and stars his wife, Paulina Gretzky.

“For me, it was playing less, and making more money. Pretty simple,” Johnson said in the episode. “If someone offered anyone a job, doing the same thing they were already doing, but less time at the office and they’re gonna pay them more, pretty sure you’re going to take it. And something wrong with you if you didn’t.”

Johnson—who earned $18 million for winning LIV Golf’s inaugural individual championship in 2022—will tee it up this week at El Camaleón Golf Course for the breakaway league’s first event of the ’23 season.
