Ended: Her 2019 LPGA season, Germany’s Sandra Gal, who is suffering from the effects of dormant Lyme disease, LPGA.com reported. Gal, 34, has missed four consecutive cuts this season and posted only two top-20 finishes in 17 starts and has slipped to No. 128 in the Rolex Rankings. She has been on medical leave since August. Gal has won once on the LPGA since joining the tour in 2008. She is a two-time Solheim Cup participant for Europe. Lyme disease is a bacterial infection typically passed to humans through the bite of an infected tick. The PGA Tour’s Jimmy Walker, who won the 2016 PGA Championship, was diagnosed with Lyme disease in April 2017 and took off five months later in the year.
