Scheduled: By the Official World Golf Ranking, to resume its ranking system upon the completion of next week’s tournaments on the PGA and Korn Ferry tours, officials announced Wednesday on the website. The OWGR was suspended March 15, shortly after the PGA Tour canceled the Players Championship after the first round as the coronavirus pandemic spread in the U.S. The PGA Tour resumes play next week with the Charles Schwab Challenge on June 11-14 at Colonial in Fort Worth, Texas, and the Korn Ferry Tour will restart on the same dates with the Korn Ferry Challenge in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. The European Tour is not scheduled to resume play until late July. The OWGR plays a key role in deciding eligibility for tournaments on the major professional tours. The women’s Rolex Rankings remain suspended, likely until after the LPGA’s revised schedule restarts in late July.
