PGA of America disciplines executive
Darrell Crall, the chief operating officer of the PGA of America, has been placed on administrative leave after an incident in Texas during Thanksgiving week when he was arrested on suspicion of assault.

According to limited records available, Crall, 53, posted $15,000 bond on Nov. 25 in Denton after an alleged choking incident involving a family member.
“Darrell made us aware of the allegation, which we take very seriously,” a PGA of America spokesperson wrote in an emailed response to Morning Read. “He has been placed on administrative leave while the judicial process runs its course. We have no further comment."
According to the District Attorney’s Office in Denton, on the northern edge of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, Crall has not been charged with a crime as the office is awaiting the final police report.
A statement by attorney David Ovard of Frisco, Texas, was released late Monday to Morning Read. In it, Ovard said: "Please know that Darrell has full faith in the legal system and expects that when all the facts are known, the truth – that no crime occurred – is something everyone will understand. In addition, the person who initially made a complaint has since recanted all of the allegations and doesn’t want this matter to be involved in the legal system. Darrell expects to be fully exonerated."
In 2011, Crall joined the PGA of America as senior director of Golf 2.0, focusing on growing the game and the business of golf. He was promoted to COO in November 2012. Before arriving at PGA headquarters in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., Crall worked for the National Golf Foundation and then for the PGA of America in the Carolinas and Northern Texas sections. He had been executive director of the Northern Texas PGA Section before landing at PGA headquarters. He played college golf at Duke, graduating in 1989.
Crall was deeply involved in the PGA’s move of its headquarters to Frisco, Texas, which is scheduled for 2022.
