Here are the latest betting odds and picks for PNC Championship
The 2020 PGA Tour season might have ended, but that did not stop us from providing our faithful followers with one more winner before we look to 2021. Harris English continued his top form alongside favorite partner Matt Kuchar throughout the QBE Shootout. Their team chemistry, history at the event and current form simply would not deny them a third championship at Tiburon Golf Club in Naples, Fla.
This week, we head a few hours up the road to Orlando for the PNC Championship headlined by Tiger Woods and his 11-year-old son, Charlie, at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club. All participants must have won a major championship or a Players title for eligibility, and the format is a two-person scramble on Saturday and Sunday.
With the nuanced nature of this tournament involving players younger than 18, many legal sports-betting license holders are waiting to hear back from state legislators on whether they can offer odds. Many bettors may end up having to look offshore if they want to get in on the action.
However, according to 888 Sport, the favorite pair is Justin Thomas and his father, Mike, a PGA teaching professional at Harmony Landing Country Club in Goshen, Ky., at 2-1. Next up is Bubba Watson and his father-in-law, Wayne Ball, at 11-2. Matt Kuchar and his son Cameron and the Woods duo of Tiger and Charlie were listed at 6-1.
Like last week, there are simply not enough competitors among the 20 teams, so we’re going to try and pick a winner again.
Trying to pick out value in a field of unproven amateurs is too hard, so we’re going to keep it simple and take Justin Thomas and his father Mike, at 2-1. As fun as it would be to take Tiger and Charlie Woods, Team Thomas is the only group featuring two PGA professionals. There is zero value in taking them at 2-1, but it would be hard to imagine them not winning. Look for the Thomases to perhaps mark the beginning of a dynasty at the PNC Championship this weekend.
And why not throw a nickel on Tiger and Charlie Woods, too, and we’ll see you in 2021.
