Puerto Rico lands 1st USGA event for U.S. territory

Grand Reserve Golf Club, site of PGA Tour’s Puerto Rico Open, will host 2022 U.S. Women’s Amateur Four-Ball, USGA announces

Selected: By the U.S. Golf Association, Grand Reserve Golf Club in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico, as the site of the 2022 U.S. Women’s Amateur Four-Ball Championship, the USGA announced Monday in a news release. The event will mark the first time for a U.S. territory to host a USGA championship. The tournament will be played April 30-May 4, 2022. Grand Reserve, a 2006 Tom Kite design, played host last week to the PGA Tour’s Puerto Rico Open, won by Branden Grace. The Women’s Amateur Four-Ball is open to female amateurs of any age, with individual handicap indexes not exceeding 14.4. The 18-hole qualifying to decide the 64 two-woman teams will begin in August.
