Golf World Reacts to Brian Harman's Unexpected Dominance at British Open
While most golf fans were hoping for a tighter leaderboard at the British Open, Brian Harman made sure to keep his lead alive.
The 36-year-old, who entered Saturday with a five-shot lead, bogeyed two of the first three holes of the day to shrink his lead to two. However Harman went 4 under the rest of the way, finishing the day at 2 under and building his lead back up to five shots before Sunday.
As Harman birdied four holes in a nine-hole stretch, fans and analysts reacted to the British Open going from a tight race back to Harman’s to lose.
Alright Brian, this isn't that funny anymore.

What Brian Harman is doing to Hoylake is so impressive. 67, 65 and 69 to lead by 5 after a clutch up and down on 18 to save par is class. Harman was a super talented amateur, who won the US Junior and played in 2 Walker Cups. He’s then worked his way up from mini tours to… https://t.co/1FeNuGYIbM

Harman’s success on Saturday came despite being paired with hometown hero Tommy Fleetwood, while reigning Masters champion Jon Rahm shot up the leaderboard early in the day with a 63.
On Sunday, Harman will tee off last with Cameron Young, the lone golfer in second place, looking to take home the final major of the year. Not only has Harman never won a major, his last PGA Tour win came all the way back in 2017, one of two in his career. Nonetheless, the lefty is the one dominating the British Open this year.
