It might only be Thursday morning at the Players Championship, but there are already fireworks on TPC Sawgrass’s famed 17th hole, all thanks to Hayden Buckley.

Buckley, who teed off on the 10th hole at 7:01 a.m. ET—just the second tee time of the championship—stepped up to the 17th tee at 1 under par. That would quickly change.

Buckley hit the tricky 125-yard wedge shot to the island green with the utmost precision, despite having just watched his player partner dump one in the water. Buckley’s ball landed about 25 feet past the front pin location, spun back and gently rolled into the cup.

Naturally, the 27-year-old Tour pro had an electric reaction to the incredible ace, which was just the 11th hole in one at the 17th.

Buckley, arms spread wide and running in circles, chucked his Titleist cap up in the air and playfully threw his wedge at his caddie. The ace got him to 3 under par for the tournament, but the buckets didn’t stop there—Buckley birdied the 18th hole to reach 4 under par and take a share of the lead.
