The latest video going viral in the golf world—and beyond—is a comedic take on golf and traditional on-course etiquette from a woman’s point of view.

The short-form sketch, produced by Golf Digest’s Hally Leadbetter for GolfPass’s Better Off With Hally Leadbetter, is titled “Other Foot C.C. (The All-Female Country Club).”

Poking fun of the several all-male club memberships that still exist in golf today, the video follows a male golfer as he encounters a progression of common issues and obstacles that women face on the course and at the club.

From being forced to buy “longer shorts” in the pro shop to climbing endless flights of stairs to find the men’s locker room, the clip essentially “flips the script” on male golfers, as Leadbetter explains.

“The inspiration was a culmination of instances or scenarios that either us or our close friends have experienced as women on a golf course, and obviously we exaggerated quite a bit of it for comedy, but we thought, wouldn’t it be funny to flip the script here and put a guy in our shoes,” says Leadbetter.

Leadbetter, who developed the script with Kate Scarpetta and Aliea Clark—two female writers who also happen to be golfers—has been blown away by the response to the clever skit.

The video has nearly 500,000 views on Instagram alone and almost 2 million across all social media platforms. The comment sections are filled with hundreds of positive notes from female and male golfers alike, including Jessica Korda, the 30th ranked player in the world.

“The outpouring of support from women that this resonated with really validated the video and it was so awesome to see so many men chiming in as well saying it was funny,” Leadbetter says.

“Ultimately, we just wanted to make people laugh. If we could get them to think a little bit too, honestly that was our goal and we accomplished that. I’m pumped for the content from the rest of the show to be released, and it’s certainly not all in this tone by any means, but I think people will get a kick out of it.”
