Kevin Kisner Had Savage One-Liner After Jordan Spieth Missed Three-Foot Putt
Before his NBC debut as a broadcaster, PGA Tour golfer Kevin Kisner let America know that he would not be one to mince words on television.
"I think what I’m gonna try to do is have a more personal level with each player, because I obviously spend a lot of time with all these guys and I’m friends with most of them," Kisner told Sports Illustrated’s Gabby Herzig on Thursday. “The game is rapidly changing, so I think a newer perspective and a younger generation talking about it is going to be helpful."
On Saturday, Kisner delivered on his promise while providing analysis for The Sentry golf tournament. Jordan Spieth was facing a short birdie putt on the par-5 15th hole in Kapalua, Hawaii—which promptly lipped out.
"It's three feet, Jordan. Just knock it in, bud," Kisner said.
Despite his mishap, Spieth finished the round at 19-under—two strokes back of first-place Chris Kirk.
Kisner, on the other hand, will return as an analyst for the WM Phoenix Open from Feb. 8-11.
