Two Korn Ferry Tour members have been suspended from competition for betting on professional golf.

According to a statement released by the PGA Tour on Friday, Korn Ferry Tour players Vince India and Jake Staiano placed bets on PGA Tour events. They were not participating in the events they wagered on, but both players violated the PGA Tour Integrity Program.

“Both players placed bets on PGA Tour competitions, however neither player bet on tournaments in which he was a participant,” the statement read on X (formerly Twitter).

India has been suspended from the Tour for six months, while Staiano is suspended for three.

The PGA Tour Integrity Program, which was last updated in Sep. 2021, aims to “prevent and mitigate betting-related corruption in PGA Tour competitions.”

According to official guidelines, the program applies to “all tours owned and/or operated by PGA Tour, Inc. (the ‘PGA Tour’) anywhere in the world.” Therefore, even though India and Staiano are not eligible to compete on the PGA Tour, they were still violating policy by placing bets on PGA Tour events.

India, 34, attended the University of Iowa and turned professional in 2011. He made 21 starts on the Korn Ferry Tour this season, and his best finish was a T21 at the NV5 Invitational in July. He is currently ranked No. 936 in the world. Staiano, 26, turned professional in 2019 after a college career at Colorado State. He has played two seasons on the Korn Ferry Tour, making eight starts in 2023. Both players have yet to play in a PGA Tour event.
