Scottie Scheffler’s Masters Champions Dinner Menu Is Out and It’s Fire
As the reigning Masters champion, Scottie Scheffler is in charge of crafting a menu of his choice for the annual Champions Dinner at Augusta National. On Wednesday, the club released Scheffler’s selections for the exclusive meal on social media and although simple, the lineup looks absolutely delicious.
Scheffler’s dinner will consist of four courses. First, he’ll serve cheeseburger sliders, which will apparently be served “Scottie-Style.” Alongside the sliders will be a firecracker shrimp dish. For the next serving, Scheffler went with a good old-fashioned tortilla soup.
The main course features two options: Texas ribeye steak or blackened redfish. Raised in Dallas and a University of Texas alum, Scheffler’s entree choices come at no surprise.
He’ll also serve the mains with “family style” mac & cheese, jalapeño creamed corn, fried Brussels sprouts, and seasoned fries.
Last but not least, the dessert. Scheffler, who has an infamous sweet tooth, chose a warm chocolate chip skillet cookie with “milk and cookies” ice cream to top off the feast.
To be invited to the exclusive dinner, held the Tuesday night of Masters week, you must be a former Masters champion. Fred Ridley, the chairman of Augusta National Golf Club, is the only non-champion who attends the meal.
It’s safe to say that Scheffler’s meal will be one to remember, for both the high-quality menu and the memorable company. The realm of professional golf might be divided by the battle between LIV Golf and the PGA Tour, but the Champions Dinner will not be discriminating against the breakaway tour.
Fans and professional golfers alike expect the dinner to be relatively awkward this year. Even Jon Rahm admitted that he wishes he could be a fly on the wall for the meal.
“I think the Masters Champions Dinner’s going to be a little tense compared to how it’s been in the past,” Rahm said at the Sentry Tournament of Champions in January.
Scheffler himself joked that he was going to seat LIV Golf’s Bubba Watson at a “separate table” in the corner.
