Scottie Scheffler’s Eagle Hole-Out Celebration Was Even Better Than the Shot

Scheffler finished his Saturday round at LACC in epic fashion.

All week golf spectators have been criticizing LACC’s quiet and seemingly mundane fan atmosphere. But on Saturday, the Beverly Hills property absolutely lit up when Scottie Scheffler hit one of the most electric shots of the championship thus far.

Scheffler, looking to capture his second major title this week at the U.S. Open, came into the par-4 17th at 4 under par for the tournament, seven shots behind leader Rickie Fowler.

What happened next would send his name up the stacked leaderboard, while simultaneously riling up the LACC crowd.

Scheffler hit a sweeping draw from 196 yards on the 515-yard par-4 that landed on the front edge of the putting surface, took one perfect hop towards the pin, and gently trickled into the cup.

The eagle hole-out got Scheffler to 6 under for the tournament, and he immediately erupted into celebration mode with his caddie, Ted Scott, in response to the brilliant shot.

The pair were so amped up that their forceful high-five attempt missed miserably.

“I think Teddy was more excited than I was,” Scheffler said in a post-round interview with NBC.

The Texan went on to birdie the 491-yard par-4 18th to get to 7 under, launching himself back into contention ahead of Sunday’s final round.
