SI World Golf Rankings: Matt Fitzpatrick Returns to Top 10
Matt Fitzpatrick clipped Jordan Spieth in sudden death at the RBC Heritage to win his first non-major PGA Tour event, and he beat an elite field to earn the W. No surprise to see Fitzpatrick make a big move in this week’s Sports Illustrated World Golf Rankings, as he jumps eight spots to No. 7 in the world.
The SIWGR differs from the Official World Golf Rankings in several areas, including how we do the calculation, and how we only use the most recent 12 months of player results for our list, compared to 24 for the OWGR. (Fitzpatrick moved up to No. 8 on the OWGR.)
But he wasn’t the only player to see a big SIWGR swing after the RBC Heritage. Here are some other notable risers and fallers this week.
