Last week in Orlando, Fla., the golf industry gathered in the Orange County Convention Center for its largest trade show. Considered a post-pandemic "welcome back," the show floor was evidence that people are ready to get back together face-to-face, conduct business, see what’s new and buy the latest gear for their golf shops.

Over a few days we had no problem finding cool, new things to put on our wish lists. Take a look.

> FootJoy is celebrating its milestone 100th anniversary this year, and the party plans include releases of several new shoe styles. The HyperFlex and HyperFlex Carbon are definite standouts, touted as the "pinnacle athletic golf shoe."

Made for both men and women, the shoes are finely tuned to empower your game by delivering "Hyper Power" with an OptiFlex outsole for stability and performance. Hyper Control with a Power Stabilizer gives lateral/medial support and control throughout the golf swing. Hyper Fit with StratoFoam cushioning delivers comfort and support tuned specifically for golf.

“The new HyperFlex and HyperFlex Carbon offer Tour-proven enhancements within the athletic silo, delivering unquestioned innovation, comfort, stability and a visual design aesthetic that celebrates performance technology for the golfer athlete,” said Patrick Trubiano, Director of Product Management, FJ Footwear. “This product will excite current HyperFlex wearers and those looking to add more power to their game.”

> Bad Birdie performance golf apparel started in 2017, but it wasn’t until an appearance on Shark Tank that, even without an investment, the brand took off and hasn’t looked back. Its mantra is “golf is traditionally good, but should be a little bad too,” and what attracts people to the product are the names intentionally given to prints found on its shirts.

"Green Tee Shots," "Hammock Hunter," "Nocturnal by Nature," "Space Cowboy," "Hometown Hero," "Leaf It In," "Cali," "Chip-Fil-A," and "Cherry Bomb" are a few examples of the relatable product names. The men’s polos have an athletic, trim fit, and the polyester/spandex fabric provides four-way stretch, UPF 50, moisture wicking, wrinkle resistant, and has stay-right collars.

Through its fun prints, Bad Birdie’s goal is to drive a new culture of inclusivity, recreation and self-expression, embracing different walks of life, varying ages and handicaps but remaining interconnected with golf as the common denominator.

> G Belt showcased a patented belt design that comes with special areas to hold a ball marker, divot repair tool, towel and Velcro to hold your glove while putting. And those items are included with the belt. The canvas embroidered belt combines style and convenience on the golf course—no more losing your ball marker or glove.

The idea came to founder/owner Michel Fernandez one afternoon on a golf course in Florida. He had lost his new golf glove from hanging in his back pocket, didn’t have a ball marker with him and discovered a hole in his shorts pocket from a sharp heavy divot repair tool. He wished there was a better way to have all the tools needed out on the green, handy and ready to use.

Later that evening, his daughter came in the room wearing a handyman’s tool belt she found in the garage. Fernandez had his "aha" moment and began working on a concept to create a belt that would hold all of his golf tools.

> Holderness & Bourne has a new Baxter pant of thin wale corduroy, a five-pocket style that combines classic looks with a modern, buttery soft, cotton-elastane fabric for stretch and comfort. These pants feature a modern tailored fit and chino-style back pockets for a more polished look at home, on and off the golf course and perfect for daily wear through the colder months.

Part of the fall collection, the Baxter is available in waist sizes ranging from 30 - 42 inches, and inseam lengths of 30, 32, and 34 inches. A beautiful shade of port, sankaty blue and rye are the color choices.

> Palm Golf Company takes its fun glove prints and carries them over to its towels and rangefinder pouch to make a nice matching set of accessories on your golf bag. The 14-by-36-inch waffle-knit towels are designed to quickly remove grass, sand, mud or dirt off clubs and golf balls without scratching, and they’re just a little more fun to look at than a plain solid-color towel. A durable carabiner clip securely fastens it to your bag. The Southern California based company has a laid-back vibe and firm belief that golf and life should be a fun experience with its hashtag #swingandsmile.

> Color Trend: Expect to see the color green continue its popularity this year in golf apparel, footwear and accessories. Green is also dominating street style, and since there is more and more crossover with what we wear on and off the course, we’re going to find a broad array of green shades. From lighter celery, mint, sage, pistachio and lime, to darker hues in pine, evergreen, and forest.

WAAC (Win At All Costs) made its green shade into an ocean print set on a black background, worn with white and royal blue.

Ralph Lauren RLX fatigue green in the women’s fall collection shows how it can be paired with light blue, pinks, navy and neutrals. From an accent color, to head-to-toe monochrome, and mixing/matching greens—embrace the trend, there is something green for everyone.
