Talor Gooch made LIV Golf history again this weekend. With a victory over Sergio Garcia in a one-hole sudden death playoff at Sentosa Golf Club in Singapore, Gooch became the first back-to-back winner on the breakaway tour.

Last week at LIV’s Adelaide event, Gooch set the 36-hole scoring record with incredible back-to-back 62s and went on to win the tournament by two shots. With the victory in Signapore, Gooch now has two consecutive winner’s checks totaling $8 million heading his way.

“I know that I’m not going to continue playing this level of golf forever. So you just enjoy it while it comes and try to make it last as long as you can,” Gooch said. “And when it goes away, you try to get back on the train as quickly as possible. So you try to savor these moments and try to feel these feelings and emotions and try to remember ’em so that when they go away you can really get back as quickly as possible.”

Garcia and Gooch entered the final round tied at 13-under. Gooch and the former Masters champion remained at the top of the leaderboard all day, with Brooks Koepka trailing close behind.

All three players finished with 4-under 67s, but Koepka came up one shot short of the playoff. On the first and only playoff hole, Gooch hit the par-5 18th in two, while Garcia’s second shot found the greenside bunker. The Oklahoma State product easily two-putted for birdie, and Garcia failed to make his up-and-down.

Gooch also led his team, RangeGoats GC, to victory—the squad’s first team title.

“We’ve been talking about being up there on the podium. I’ve been telling ’em how much how I’m going to spray ’em in the face with champagne for a long time now. We knew it was coming, and it was only a matter of time,” Gooch said.
