Tiger Woods Can Set an Insane Record This Week at the Masters
AUGUSTA, Ga. - As ever, Tiger Woods has drawn a lot of attention this week as he battles back from injuries to his right leg while chasing a sixth career green jacket. But there’s another piece of Masters history on the line as Woods's second round continues.
Remarkably (or maybe a better word might be absurdly) Woods has made the cut in 22 consecutive Masters, from 1997-2022. He’s one off the all-time tournament record, held by Fred Couples (1983-2007) and Gary Player (1959-82). So if he makes it to the weekend, Woods will etch his name at the top of another piece of Masters history, joining Couples and Player.
After Woods, Adam Scott has the longest active cut streak, with 13 in a row from 2010-20. Here's a look at the all-time list of most consecutive cuts made at Augusta.
All-Time Made Cut Streaks at the Masters
23, Fred Couples (1983-2007), Gary Player (1959-82)
22, Tiger Woods (1997-2022)
21, Tom Watson (1975-95)
19, Bernhard Langer (1984-2002); Gene Littler (1961-80)
18, Billy Casper (1960-77)
16, Phil Mickelson (1998-2013)

If he does advance to the weekend, it will be Woods’ 24th career made cut at Augusta, which is impressive but still far behind the all-time cuts made record—that one belongs to Jack Nicklaus, with 37.
