Viktor Hovland Opens Up About His Eye-Popping Outfit That Sent Golf World Into Frenzy
Golf fans on social media went crazy for Viktor Hovland during the first round of The Masters tournament on Thursday, and it wasn’t just because of his 7-under round that left him as the co-leader.
The Norwegian player sported a bright, floral shirt from J.Lindeberg during the first round, and people couldn’t take their eyes off of it. The polo was covered in big Azalea flowers, which pays homage to the 13th hole “Azalea” at Augusta National.
After his round, Hovland was asked by ESPN’s Scott Van Pelt about his thoughts on his eye-popping top. The 25-year-old made sure to emphasize that it wasn’t his choice to wear the shirt.
“I had nothing to do with it,” Hovland said while laughing. “I just wear what they tell me to wear. It’s definitely a little bit out there, but I’d rather take these than the pink pants I had last year.”
Fans on social media were pretty conflicted on Hovland’s bold polo. Here’s some of the best reactions to his outfit on Thursday.
