Fore! Things

1. Rickie Fowler’s playoff victory at the Rocket Mortgage Classic was his first in more than four years and saw him climb from 185th in the world last fall to inside the top 20.

2. Fowler has 13 top-20 finishes in his last 15 starts on the PGA Tour.

3. Collin Morikawa’s playoff loss and tie for second with Adam Hadwin was his best finish since a tie for 10th at the Masters and his first top 5 since he finished third at the Farmers Insurance Open. Morikawa, a two-time major winner, has not won since his DP World Tour Championship victory in 2021. His last PGA Tour win came at the 2021 British Open.

4. Talor Gooch’s victory at LIV Golf Andalucia makes him the first player in LIV’s short history to win three events. There have been 16 played. Dustin Johnson and Brooks Koepka each have two victories.

Fore! More Things

1. The British Masters at The Belfry won by Daniel Hillier kicked off a month-long stretch of golf in Great Britain, with three of the events in England. This week’s LIV Golf London event at the Centurion Club will be followed by the Genesis Scottish Open at the Renaissance Club in Gullane and then the British Open at Royal Liverpool in England.

2. Hillier was joined by Oliver Wilson and Gunner Wiebe in earning a spot at the Open at Royal Liverpool. The tournament awarded spots to the top three players not otherwise exempt.

3. The PGA Tour announced last week that it will stage a regular event in Utah in the fall of 2024, with dates to be announced as part of the post-Tour Championship schedule.

4. The first round of the Open at Royal Liverpool is 17 days away.
