A Detroit native, Sommer Woods is the tournament lead for The John Shippen, a golf event in late June that will give the best African-American amateurs and pros an opportunity to qualify for the PGA Tour’s Rocket Mortgage Classic at Detroit Golf Club. PGA Tour pro Bo Van Pelt was born in Richmond, Ind., and resides in Tulsa, Okla. He has six professional victories worldwide and has been a PGA Tour member since 2004. He started the First Tee chapter in his hometown and has been a dedicated supporter of Habitat of Humanity for 13 years. Van Pelt also has donated three homes to families in need.
