An ‘imperfect’ Augusta National?
Hey, don't blame it on Dustin Johnson, who turns in a record-setting performance, but the 84th Masters comes up short
Dustin Johnson turned in a near-perfect performance in winning the 84th Masters, but Augusta National Golf Club came up a bit short. And it had nothing to do with the lack of azaleas and dogwoods in bloom, nor the missing patrons. “Let’s face it,” John Hawkins said. “If this Masters had been played in April, we would kind of classify it as a dud. Not to take anything away from Johnson. It’s a big victory for him.” Mike Purkey, in a comment akin to pointing out a mole on a swimsuit model, called Augusta National 'imperfect.' Hawk & Purk assess the good, bad and unusual to emerge from the first (and they hope last) fall Masters.
