Scottie Scheffler's caddie, Ted Scott, will be absent during Saturday's third round of the PGA Championship, if the golfer makes the cut, as he will be attending his daughter's high school graduation.

Scott will be present during rounds one and two, and then plans to make it back for the final round on Sunday at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Ky.

Scheffler admitted it was a "pretty easy decision" to let his caddie travel back to Lafayette, La., for the graduation, and that the date was on the calendar for quite some time for the duo to plan ahead. It helps that Scheffler has an early tee time on Friday. Scheffler's longtime friend Brad Payne will caddy for him on Saturday.

This will be Scheffler's first major, and tournament, appearance since becoming a first-time dad. His wife Meredith just gave birth to a baby boy named Bennett last Wednesday.

He had three weeks off of playing in anticipation of his son's birth, but before that, Scheffler won four of his last five starts, including the Masters last month.
