Scottie Scheffler Had Three-Word Message for ESPN’s Marty Smith After Arrest

Matt Stone/The Courier Journal / USA

Scottie Scheffler put in a full day before most people showed up to work on Friday morning, getting arrested, charged with felony assault, and released following an incident outside of Valhalla Golf Club before the start of Round 2 of the PGA Championship. The shocking sequence of events contines as his rain-delayed 10:08 a.m. tee time approaches. ESPN reported that officials from the course escorted Scheffler back to the course from police custody and their cameras captured the arrival.

Reporter Marty Smith tried to get the first comment from Scheffler as he entered the clubhouse but managed to only elicit a "love you, Marty." Which didn't really answer any of the lingering questions but was was really nice and thoughtful.

Scheffler would soon emerge dressed up to play and headed out to the practice range so all signs are pointing to him playing golf as scheduled. What a day.
