Golf TV analyst Rich Beem checks in from the Sky Sports TV truck and shares a Tour Championship memory from his playing days.

In a new episode of "Beem on the Scene," Sky Sports analyst Rich Beem checks in from inside the TV truck at East Lake Golf Club, where he gives you a quick look at the life of a golf television broadcaster – highlighted by a cappuccino machine that happens to be popular with the entire Sky team.

Beem also recalls his one and only trip to the Tour Championship as a player. He says he was extremely tired when the week began, and likely finished in last place [He actually finished T-26]. But, oh, that check was still pretty sweet.

RICH BEEM

Rich Beem is currently a golf analyst for Sky Sports, The Golf Channel, and CBS Sports. He became a professional golfer in 1994. His early career was broken up by a spell in Seattle selling car stereos and cell phones. He later returned to golf in 1998 after J.P. Hayes won the Buick Classic. Beem’s first win came in 1999 when he won the Kemper Open as a rookie. His career took a further leap forward in 2002 with a victory at The International in Castle Rock, Colorado. Two weeks later, Beem won the 2002 PGA Championship at Hazeltine National, where he finished 1 shot better than Tiger Woods. This victory helped establish Beem in the top 20 of the Official World Golf Ranking. Most recently, during the 2019 PGA Championship second round, Beem shot -5 on the back 9. That score was the best 9 hole score of the tournament, and propelled him to make the cut. Beem is the author of Bud, Sweat and Tees: A Walk on the Wild Side of the PGA Tour by Alan Shipnuck, which profiled his rookie year on the PGA Tour and the often wild lifestyle of him and his caddie, Steve Duplantis. Beem attended New Mexico State from 1988-1992 and was a member of the golf team.
