Have Clubs Will Travel: Rancho San Lucas

The Greg Norman-designed course along the southern tip of Mexico's Baja Peninsula is visually stunning and enticing in its presentation.

Rancho San Lucas Golf Club, which was designed by Greg Norman and opened in 2020, is truly a sight to behold as it meshes beautifully with the southern Mexico coastline.

Norman used a least-disturbance philosophy to create Ranch San Lucas and it's evident as the course routes through three differing ecosystems — windswept dunes, a thick cactus forest and back across a littoral zone to the beach and dunes.

“When we were first asked to build a golf course here, I drove over the top of the hill and saw all the arroyos and dunes set back from the sea, and I said ‘Wow, this is the most spectacular piece of property I have seen in a long, long time,’” Greg Norman said.

The course plays to par 72 and 7,210 from the tips.
