Watch: Everything Coming Up Roses for the NCAA Player of the Year

Rose Zhang capped her remarkable freshman year with the clinching point in Stanford's National Championship victory

Rose Zhang wasted no time making her presence felt on the NCAA scene last fall, winning each of her first three collegiate starts. This past week she finished the season as strong as she started it, winning the NCAA Individual Title before leading the Cardinal to their first team title since 2015. Oh, and for good measure she celebrated her 19th birthday on Tuesday.

On the PGA Tour, it's become fairly common practice for a major championship winner to withdraw from the following week's event. The RBC Heritage lacks a certain appeal after donning a green jacket after all. Such is not the case for Justin Thomas, however, who implemented a rule made famous by Nick Saban, quickly putting his PGA Championship win behind him.

Steve Stricker had a significant health scare in the weeks and months that followed his successful Ryder Cup captaincy. Unfortunately for Stricker, he's sitting out this week's Senior PGA Championship after testing postive for COVID-19. This halts his chances at the Senior 'Grand Slam' having already won the first major of the season.

One player who isn't on the tee sheet at the Charles Schwab Challenge is Bryson DeChambeau. After nearly giving it a go in Tulsa last week, he elected to take this week off and is targeting a return at the Memorial, which happened to be a climax in the 'Brooksy' saga of 2021
