Anthony Kim is LIV Golf's Ultimate Wild Card
It's official: Anthony Kim is back as a wild card in LIV Golf, which I find wildly fitting since Anthony Kim is a total wild card.
He completely disappearing for over a decade, only to show up and walk on as a pro golfer again this week in Saudi Arabia.
What's a wild card? LIV Golf is comprised of 13 four-man teams with the newly added wild card positions, which are essentially for players who are competing for the individual prizes and points but not the team portion of the competition. Take Las Vegas, for example. Dustin Johnson took first as an individual, which landed him a cool $4 million for the week. And Brooks Koepka’s Smash GC was the lowest-scoring overall team, landing those four gentlemen an additional $3 million to divide amongst themselves.
So, basically, the wild card players like Anthony Kim only have one shot at winning millions of dollars in a tournament weekend instead of two. But Kim will take his shot this week, and we'll be watching.
