Southside tailback Mason Teague voted SBLive Alabama High School Athlete of the Week
Congratulations to Southside (Gadsden) running back Mason Teague for winning the fan vote for SBLive Alabama High School Athlete of the Week!
Teague rushed for 229 yards on 27 carries with three touchdowns in a 48-45 win over Boaz on Sept. 29.
His performance garnered 91.7 percent of the votes cast across the state of Alabama, beating out Clay-Chalkville quarterback Jaylen Mbakwe, who finished second in the voting.

Cole Gamble, RB, Mountain Brook
Rushed for 239 yards and four touchdowns on 38 carries in the Spartans’ 34-24 win over Hoover.
Eric Handley, QB, Pleasant Grove
Completed 23 of his 34 passes for 405 yards and two touchdowns in a 22-21 win over A.H. Parker.
Alvin Henderson, RB, Elba
Rushed for 288 yards and three touchdowns on 16 carries and completed one pass for a 27-yard score in the Tigers’ 57-20 win over Providence Christian.
Jaylen Mbakwe, QB, Clay-Chalkville
Completed nine of his 11 passes for 76 yards and rushed for 171 yards and four touchdowns in a 36-33 win over Thompson.
Brandon Musch, QB, Westminster Christian
Passed for 268 yards and four touchdowns and rushed for 243 yards and four touchdowns in a 71-54 win over Central-Florence.
Jamarion Osborne, RB/DB, Chickasaw
Rushed for 174 yards and two touchdowns and caught an 86-yard touchdown pass on offense and recorded three tackles for a loss on defense in a 32-22 win over McIntosh
