Nationally-ranked Chandler overpowers Casteel in Arizona high school football showdown
It didn't come easy at times for nationally-ranked Chandler, but the Wolves picked another win and remained undefeated after dominating Casteel in the second half of Friday night's game.
Chandler, which entered the matchup at No. 20 in the SBLive/Sports Illustrated Power 25 national rankings, won 49-28 against Casteel in one of Arizona's biggest games of the week.
After leading 29-21 at halftime, the Wolves raced past the Colts in the second half to improve to 6-0 this season and 1-0 in region play.
A long touchdown run from four-star Illinois commit Ca'Lil Valentine put Chandler up by three scores in the third quarter, but Casteel kept fighting.
The Colts made it a 43-28 game with a touchdown early in the fourth quarter.
Once again, Valentine helped seal the victory with a long run. The Wolves capped off the drive with another touchdown to go ahead 49-28.
Chandler is scheduled to take on Centennial (Arizona) next week in a battle of undefeated teams.
