SBLive Arkansas softball Super 7 rankings: Many teams rested during spring break

This week's Super 7 rankings

With many teams resting during spring break, there were not many major movements this week, with the biggest one in Class 6A. We are now getting into the meat of the season with some squads still competing in tournaments and nonconference games, while the remaining ones pick up on conference play.

Here are the SBLive Arkansas Super 7 softball rankings for March 28-April 4. 

6A

1. Bentonville (7-0)

2. Cabot (5-0)

3. Bryant (9-3)

4. Bentonville West (8-0)

5. North Little Rock (9-4)

6. Rogers (5-0)

7. Conway (4-4)

Outside looking in: Fort Smith Northside, Rogers Heritage

Analysis:

-Bentonville did not play. Thy will face Rogers Heritage on Tuesday followed by Fayetteville on Thursday.

-Cabot did not play. They will face Conway to begin the week before ending it with Beebe.

-Bryant had a great week going 5-3 in the Southern Warrior Classic. Central, Baptist Prep, and Little Rock Southwest are on the schedule for this week.

-West did not play but has a busy week ahead playing four teams.

-North Little Rock went 3-3 in Gulf Shores at the Gulf Coast Classic. The Lady Charging Wildcats get right back to work this week against Stuttgart, LR Southwest, and Mount St. Mary.

-Rogers did not play. Bentonville West and Springdale are up this week.

-Conway did not play and is looking to get back on track this week but will have to do it against tough competition - White Hall, Cabot, and Fort Smith Northside.

Outside looking in: Van Buren, White Hall

Analysis:

-The top-ranked Lady Panthers did not play over break. They will not open conference play until April 5 against Jacksonville.

-Greene County Tech had a solid showing in the Gulf Coast Classic going 3-2-1 against national competition. Conference play continues this week in a doubleheader with Paragould followed by more out-of-state action against St. Benedict at Auburndale.

-Marion moves up three spots following a stellar showing at the Gulf Coast Classic in Gulf Shores winning its first four games and finishing the week 4-1. In-state play picks back up this week in a doubleheader with Jonesboro and then a road trip to Brookland.

-Greenwood continues 5A-West play with Van Buren on Tuesday.

-Mountain Home is back this week with two home games against Flippin and Vilonia before finishing the week at Southside Batesville.

-Sheridan is looking to continue to make noise coming off the break and face 4A No. 1 Morrilton and Texarkana this week.

-Beebe plays two this week starting at home against Jacksonville and on the road at Cabot.

Outside looking in: Bauxite, Pea Ridge

Analysis:

-Morrilton begins the week with a tough matchup against 5A No. 6 Sheridan on the road followed by a home game with Heber Springs before finishing the week on the road at Dardanelle.

-Nashville continued to impress last week in the Magnolia Tournament defeating Ashdown and Magnolia.

-Gravette starts the week with tough games against 6A No. 3 Bentonville West and 4A No. 6 Farmington at home then finish the week at Gentry.

-Valley View comes back this week to play red-hot 3A No. 2 East Poinsett County to begin the week following spring break followed by Southside Batesville and a road trip to play in the Southaven Tournament.

-Malvern is one of Class 4A’s most dangerous teams and returns to action facing off against Fountain Lake, Lake Hamilton, and then one with big implications against Bauxite to cap the week.

-Farmington looks to regroup against a good Rogers Heritage team after falling to Gravette in the third-place game of the Farmington Invitation before spring break.

-Stuttgart took advantage of spring break to shore up some injuries and it came at a perfect time facing a four-game slate this week beginning with 6A No. 5 North Little Rock followed by Forrest City, White Hall, and Little Rock Christian.

3A

Outside looking in: Booneville, Greenland

Analysis:

-Baptist Prep continues to play tough competition beginning with home games against Greenbrier and Dover then finishing the week against 6A No. 4 Bryant.

-Lincoln moves into the second spot as winners of six of its past seven falling only to Melbourne 2-0 in the Ozarks Classic Tournament in that span. The Lady Wolves face Greenland and Prairie Grove this week.

-Hackett is coming off a solid performance in the Farmington Invitational and is rested for three games this week beginning with a home match against County Line followed by road trips to Cedarville and Paris.

-Ashdown started off Magnolia Tournament play about as well as a team could with a 15-0 victory over Parker’s Chapel but took two on the chin to 4A No. 2 Nashville 9-3 and Genoa Central 15-3.

-Gosnell did not play over break and returns this week with road trips to Riverside and Corning before capping the week at home against Harrisburg.

-Smackover comes back this week to put its five-game win streak on the line in home contests against Rison and Monticello before finishing at Camden Harmony Grove on April 1.

-Atkins started 4-3 but has since reeled off four wins in a row and will defend the streak starting with a gritty Searcy squad.

Analysis:

-McCrory puts its perfect record on the line against 5A competition on the road at Jonesboro to start the week coming off spring break.

-East Poinsett County faces one of its toughest games of the year so far to begin the week Monday against Valley View.

-Woodlawn was scheduled to play a tournament over break, but games were cancelled. The Lady Bears have a four-game homestand this week beginning with Hampton.

-Tuckerman will play in the Southaven Tournament after resting during spring break.

-Salem thumped White County Central 16-1 over spring break. The Lady Greyhounds play two this week facing off against Cedar Ridge and White County Central again before playing in the Ozarks Classic Tournament in Harrison this weekend.

-Magnet Cove returns to its home field Monday against Mountain Pine before heading to Glen Rose on Tuesday.

-Fordyce swept a doubleheader against DeWitt last week and will face Bearden at home, followed by Woodlawn and Hampton on the road this week.

Analysis:

-Taylor looks to get back on a winning streak after coming up short in the DMac Tournament prior to spring break.

-Mt Vernon-Enola has a packed week ahead facing St. Joe and No. 3 Wonderview at home, a road trip to Quitman, and back at home to finish the week against Nemo Vista.

-Wonderview comes back from break this week to take on Dover followed by big ones with No. 2 Mt. Vernon-Enola and Guy-Perkins.

-Calico Rock went 1-2 in the Ozarks Tournament in Harrison and will start the week with a home game against Viola followed by road trips to Greers Ferry Westside and Norfork.

-Greers Ferry Westside has three big opportunities this week facing off against Shirley, Calico Rock, and ending the week at Concord.

-Concord has a busy week coming off spring break highlighted by a huge Thursday matchup against No. 5 Greers Ferry Westside.

-Ouachita gets back to work starting with Jessieville at home and a road trip to Mount Ida on Thursday.
