State champions were crowned in boys golf in all six classifications this week. Here is a recap. 

CLASS 6A

Rogers won the team title and Cabot’s Gabe Haslauer won the individual title at Rolling Hills Country Club in Cabot.

Rogers won the team title with a 596 (292-304), beating Fayetteville by eight strokes. Little Rock Catholic was third at 609.

Rogers was led by Cohen Kinnard, who finished third with a 145 (71-74). Maddock Stephens shot a 148 (73-75); Jack Scudder, who shot a 149 (73-76) and Noah Reagan , who shot a 154 (75-79).

Campbell Cox of Fayetteville shot a 146 (72-74) to finish fourth.

Haslauer shot a 137 (67-70), beating Adam Squires of Little Rock Catholic (69-72), who shot a 141.

CLASS 5A

Paxton Lane of Benton shot a 4-under 67 to win the Class 5A individual title at Eagle Crest Golf Course in Alma and help the Panthers win their second-consecutive state title.

Lane edged Will Gordon of Hot Springs Lakeside by two strokes and Searcy’s Luke Killough, who shot a 70.

As a team, Benton won the team title with a 295, topping Mountain Home by 16 strokes. Mason McDaniel both shot a 73. Maddox Davis and Elias Payne shot an 82 and 83.

CLASS 4A

Led by Cole Kirby, Brookland won the boys team title with a 213, topping Pottsville by 16 strokes at Sage Meadows Golf Course in Jonesboro.

Kirby won the individual title with a 65, beating Cobey Riddle of Trumann by five strokes. Landon Sawyer of Magnolia was third with a 71. Tyson Seyler of Brookland was fourth with a 72. Gabe Mathis of Pottsville was fifth with a 72.

In addition to Kirby and Seyler, Kobe Stout shot a 76 and Owen Stallings shot a 77 for Brookland.

CLASS 3A

Jackson McLaughlin shot a 67 to help Episcopal Collegiate win the team title with a 229 at Glenwood Country Club.

McLaughlin won the individual title by six strokes over Rex Farmer of Manila. Jacob Katz of Episcopal was tied for third with a 75 with Parker Wells of Gosnell. Tucker Thompson of Flippin and Judson Wolfe of Smackover were tied for fifth with a 77.

Episcopal won the team title by nine strokes over Flippin and 10 strokes over Manilla.

CLASS 2A

Cedar Ridge, led by Caden Griffin’s 71, won the team title with a 236, beating Bigelow by 18 strokes at The Course at Eagle Mountain in Batesville.

Griffin tied with Brooks Vangilder of Marmaduke, for the individual title In addition to Griffith, Easton Griffin shot a 76 to finish tied for third with Elijah Wilkes of Izard County.

Bennett Wilson and Rhett Neumeier of Bigelow both shot an 83.

CLASS 1A

Armorel won the team title with a 261 at Mountain Ranch Golf Course in Fairfield Bay, topping The New School box six strokes. Hillcrest was third at 271, West Side Greers Ferry was fourth at 272 and Taylor was fifth at 276.

Individuals, Armorel was led by Jackson Welch, who finished this with an 82. Ben Braswell shot an 87.

The individual champion was Max Gipson of West Side Greers Ferry, shot shot a 76, beating Braden Williams of Viola by two strokes. Carson Oliphant of Ozark Catholic and Wyatt Vinson of The New School were tied for fourth at 83. Mason Lindsey of Taylor shot an 85.
