State champions were crowed in boys and girls tennis this week. Here is the recap.

 Class 6A

Class 6A ended in shared team titles for both the boys and girls at Rogers Heritage. Bentonville and Jonesboro shared the boys title with 9 points while Bentonville and Rogers Heritage girls split the girls title with 7.5 points each. 


Individually, Ethan Richardson of Jonesboro, def. Graham Hardin of Bentonville West 6-2, 6-1 to win the the boys singles title. The boys doubles title went to Bentonville’s Boyce Read and Santiago Aguirre, who defeated Spencer Holloway and Jacob Nordin of Fayetteville, 6-3, 6-3.


In girls singles, Stella de Vera of Rogers Heritage defeated Caroline Jones of North Little Rock, 6-3, 4-6, 6-2. The girls doubles title went to Glennah Langford and Kavya Kurichety of Bentonville, who defeated Little Rock Central’s Caroline Lasley and Khushi Patil.

CLASS 5A

Pulaski Academy swept the boys and girls titles at Rebsamen Tennis Center in Little Rock. The title was the boys eighth in the past nine years while the girls won their fifth in a row.

The boys singles title went to Pulaski Academy’s Michael Homsi, who defeated Ethan Tan of Maumelle, 6-0, 6-1. The boys doubles title went to Brandon Nguyen and Nico Duina, who beat Pierce Blackmon and Finley Chapin of Mountain Home, 6-3, 6-3.

The girls singles title went to Little Rock Parkview’s Emmory Simmons, who defeated Emily Rowe of Greene County Tech, 3-6 6-2, 7-5. The girls doubles title went to Diana Homsi and Jaymie Angtuaco of Pulaski Academy, who defeated Searcy’s Haley Tancino and Avery Tranum, 6-3, 6-0.

CLASS 4A

Episcopal Collegiate won the girls title Shiloh Christian won the boys title at the Anderson-Boreham Tennis Center in Clarksville.


Shiloh was led by Justus Thurlby, who won the singles title by defeating his teammate Gabe Clevenger, 6-2, 6-0. The doubles title went to Harrison Clark and Joseph Warren of Farmington, who defeated Nicholas Adams and Connor Lamb of Subiaco Academy, 7-6, 6-4.

Episcopal was aided by the fact that Lovey Reynolds was the runner-up in singles and its doubles team of Mia Colclasure and Gabbi Taylor finished third with a 9-4 victory over Kaitlyn Rogers and Olivia Silvey.Zayla Ware of Joe T. Robinson won the girls singles title with a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Lovey Reynolds of Episcopal, 6-2, 6-4. Reese Worthington and Esmeralda Aguilar of Nashville defeated Taylor Lea and Leslie Wallace of Episcopal 1-6, 6-4, 6-4 for the girls doubles title.

CLASS 3A

Haas Hall-Fayetteville won the boys and girls titles at Conway Tennis Center in Bergman.On the boys side, Haas Hall was led by Cole Kessman, who defeated Matt New of Central Arkansas Christian, 4-6, 7-6, 6-2.

The boys doubles title went to Oliver Wise and Brian Wooming of Haas Hall-Fayetteville, who defeated their teammates Josh Ofodile and Merrit Brooks, 6-2, 2-6, 6-4.

The girls were led by Naya Kessman, who defeated Audrey Walters of Elkins, 6-1, 6-2. The doubles team of Sydney Turner and Brooke Meek defeated Caroline Nick and Alyssa Jansen of Central Arkansas Christian, 6-3, 6-1.

CLASS 2A

Parkers Chapel, Riverside and Conway Christian shared the boys title while Parker’s Chapel won the girls title with 11 points at Allen Park in Searcy.

The three schools shared the title with seven points under a scoring system that awards points for victories in singles and doubles. Individually, Jackson Dison of Parkers Chapel won the boys singles title with a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Tommy Anline of Haas Hall-Bentonville. The boys doubles title went to Gavin Hensley and Ace Koehler of Conway Christian, who defeated Seth Couch and Harrison McAnally of Riverside, 6-0, 6-2.

Caroline Huff of Conway Christian won the girls singles title with a 6-0, 6-3 victory over Riley Ashcraft. The doubles title went to Bella Frisby and Kallie Martin of Parkers Chapel, who defeated Brooklyn Berry and Malorie Booth of Riverside, 6-0, 6-2.
