Randy Rosetta has covered high school & college athletics for most of the last 35 years, the last six in Lubbock, Texas – his adopted home with two stints in West Texas. A Kansas native and KU graduate, Rosetta returned to West Texas in 2018 after a 14-year detour to Baton Rouge, Louisiana. His primary focus from 2004-2016 was as a beat writer covering LSU athletics for a variety of media outlets before refocusing on high school sports from 2016-18 in Livingston Parish, a suburban area of Baton Rouge. Before departing for Louisiana, his family called Lubbock home from 1997-2004, with a six-year stint at the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal where he split time covering high school sports and Texas Tech athletics. Upon returning to his adopted West Texas home, Rosetta transitioned to covering prep sports and rekindled a passion for telling the stories of high school athletes. In 2019, he launched HubCityPreps.com, a digital sports site that focuses on high school athletes & programs across the Lubbock area. He began contributing to High School On SI in 2025.
