MLB Draft 2023: A state-by-state look at all the high school players picked

Which state had the most high school players selected in the draft?

LSU dominated the top of the 2023 MLB Draft, and college picks comprised most of the first round, but this year saw more high school players selected overall than in 2022.

Max Clark (Franklin Community, Indiana) was the first high school player taken at No. 3 overall, and Ryan Marohn (Freedom, Virginia) was last at No. 608 overall.

The 2023 MLB Draft had 113 high school players from the U.S. drafted, plus seven from Puerto Rico and three from Canada. Last year 108 high school players from the U.S. were chosen.

Here are all of the high school players picked in 2023, grouped by state in alphabetical order (plus Canada and Puerto Rico), with the baseball program each competed for in parentheses.
