Torrey Pines (San Diego) forward Brandon Angel (6-foot-7, 200 pounds) announced his commitment to Stanford University men's basketball on Monday morning. He tweeted out the news after visiting the Cardinal two weekends ago.

Angel, a three-star recruit, averaged 10 points and 7 rebounds per game for the Falcons last season, shooting 40-percent from 3-point range, helping them to a CIF Open Division Championship.

Angel played very well over the summer with his high school
team as well as Gamepoint Basketball, picking up double digit offers from
schools around the country. He chose Stanford over his other finalists Wisconsin,
Utah, and Cal.

Angel becomes the fifth basketball player in the 2020 class from San Diego to make a college commitment, joining Yassine Gharram (Yale), Kobe Sanders (Cal Poly), Chibuzo Agbo (Texas Tech), and Maurice Holmes (Fresno Pacific).
