Former Sierra Canyon High School star Ziaire Williams will likely be a first round selection during Thursday night's NBA Draft on ESPN.
Williams, a 6-foot-8 forward who graduated from Sierra Canyon in Chatsworth, California in 2020, played one season of college basketball at Stanford. He averaged 10.7 points and 4.6 rebounds for the Cardinal last season. He has been projected to go as high as No. 7 in the 2021 NBA draft.
As a senior at Sierra Canyon in 2019-20, Williams averaged 15 points, 7.9 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game. He led the Trailblazers to a CIF Southern Section Open Division championship and CIF State Open Division Regional championship. In the Regional championship, Williams hit a buzzer-beater to knock off Etiwanda, which ended up being the final shot of his high school career with the state championships being canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
