The California high school basketball season came and went in the blink of an eye. But the CIF State finals are officially back for the first time since 2019, and they took place on Friday and Saturday at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento.

Here's a look at the top performers in high school boys and girls basketball last week (March 7-13) throughout Northern California. The last week of the season consisted of the CIF Regional finals and CIF State finals.

GIRLS BASKETBALL:

Giselle Rodriguez, Fall River G:

Rodriguez led the Bulldogs to a NorCal Division VI Regional title, going for 21 points, 14 rebounds, eight steals, and three assists in a 67-65 win against Weed. Sydney Cassidy added 19 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and four steals for Fall River.

Hannah Golan, Branson F:

Golan racked up 21 points, 15 rebounds, five steals, and two blocks in a 46-23 rout of Imperial to seal a Division IV State championship for the Bulls.

Via Fonongaloa, Salesian College Prep C:

Fonongaloa led the Pride with 14 points in their Regional finals victory against St. Ignatius and 18 points and 11 rebounds in their State championship win over Windward.

Lily Reeser, San Domenico G:

Reeser had 12 points and three steals in a 38-27 victory against Shalhevet to lead the Panthers to a Division V State title.

Erin Sellers, Oakland Tech G:

Sellers led the Bulldogs in scoring in both their Division III Regional and State championship victories, including 22 points in their Regional win against Lincoln (Lincoln).

Katie Leeth, Lincoln (Lincoln):

Leeth nearly carried the Fighting Zebras to a Regional finals win against Oakland Tech, leading the game with 26 points, 12 rebounds, and three blocks.

Meadow Roland, San Joaquin Memorial F:

Roland led the Panthers to a Division II Regional finals win against Antelope with 19 points, nine rebounds, and two steals, and also led the team with 10 points in the State championship against Sage Hill.

Makayla Moore, Archbishop Mitty F:

After notching 13 points on 6-10 shooting, four rebounds, and two steals in the Monarchs' State semifinal win over Carondelet, Moore led Mitty with 18 points and nine boards in their State finals loss against Sierra Canyon.

Talana Lepolo, Carondelet G:

Lepolo nearly lifted the Cougars to an Open Division Regional title against Archbishop Mitty, scoring a game-high 32 points in their 72-63 loss to go with six assists, four rebounds, and three steals.

BOYS BASKETBALL:

Ameere Britton, Elk Grove G:

Britton averaged 22.5 points, six rebounds, two assists, and two steals per game on 56.9% EFG to lead the Thundering Herd to a Division II State crown. Dajon Lott averaged a double-double for Elk Grove as well.

Noah Thomas, Pleasant Valley (Chico) G:

After racking up 16 points, 10 rebounds, and two assists in Pleasant Valley's Division III Regional title win against Bullard, Thomas scored 24 points against Venice for a State championship.

Brandon Lum, Stuart Hall G:

Lum led the Knights with 21 points and 22 points in their CIF Division V Regional and State championship victories, respectively.

Jamari Phillips, Modesto Christian G:

Phillips scored 20 points in both the Regional and State Open Division finals for the CIF State runner-up.

Aidan Mahaney, Campolindo G:

Mahaney nearly carried the Cougars to a Regional championship victory against Modesto Christian, racking up 27 points, five rebounds, three assists, and two steals as Campo lost 56-53.

Aaiden Burris, St. Bernard's G:

Burris led the Crusaders with 18 points in a 48-34 Division VI Regional title win over Weed.

Connor Amundsen, Clovis North G:

Amundsen lifted the Broncos over St. Ignatius in the Division I Regional finals with 21 points, and led all scorers with 25 points in their State championship loss against Damien.

John Squire, St. Ignatius C:

Squire went off for 18 points and 24 points to nearly lead SI over Clovis North in the State semifinals.
