Top stars, best performances last week in Northern California high school baseball & softball (May 9-15)
Last week, we said that the week of May 2-8 might have been NorCal's best in terms of individual high school baseball and softball performances in numerous years. This past week of softball nearly matched it, and it was another great week for baseball too. Here's a look at the top stars and best performances throughout Northern California last week (May 9-15).

SOFTBALL:
Elena Garcia, Laton:
Garcia was about as dominant as possible in a pair of 12-1 wins against Kings Christian. She threw a no-hitter followed by a three-hitter with only one total earned run allowed and 28 K's, and hit 6-8 with two homers, two doubles, 10 RBIs, and four runs scored.
Peja Goold, Lincoln (Stockton):
Goold threw a no-hitter and fanned 13 against Lodi, and followed it by striking out 14 and allowing just one run in a win against St. Mary's (Stockton). She also went 1-3 with a double, a walk, and an RBI against St. Mary's.
Jacquelyn Lujan, Orestimba:
Lujan pitched a no-hitter with 12 strikeouts in five innings against Gustine, and also went 2-3 with a double, two RBIs, and two runs scored.
Gracyn Coleman, Hanford West:
Coleman was untouchable in two games last week, hitting 6-6 with two home runs, three doubles, three walks, nine RBIs, and six runs scored.
Emma Blea, Clovis North:
Blea made waves by throwing a no-hitter in a TRAC championship game against Buchanan. She even went 1-3 at the dish with a walk and scored a run.
Sadie Leonard, Redwood:
Leonard tossed a one-hitter against Tamalpais and followed it by going 10 innings with no earned runs allowed against Marin Catholic. She racked up 34 K's in just 15 total innings, and also hit a dinger and drove in four in the win vs. Tam.
Carly Smithers, Prospect:
Smithers led the Panthers to a 3-0 week throwing complete games for wins in each game and allowing only one earned run total, striking out 24. She also batted 7-11 with 11 RBIs and scored five runs.
McKenna Beach, Eureka:
Beach erupted for an 11-13 week for the 4-0 Loggers, and went a perfect 10-10 in their first three games. In total, she had five extra-base hits, drove in five runs, and scored eight times.
Jordan Woolery, Clayton Valley Charter:
In two blowout wins, Woolery exploded for a batting line of 7-8 with two home runs, a triple, two doubles, a walk, five RBIs, and seven runs scored.
Taylor Rodriguez, Livermore:
Rodriguez threw complete games for wins against Granada and California, allowing only four hits and zero earned runs in both. She struck out 20 total and also led Livermore on offense going 3-6 with two homers, a double, and three RBIs.
Hope Jenkins, St. Francis (Sacramento):
Jenkins tossed a one-hit shutout with 10 strikeouts and went 2-3 with two RBIs in a 6-0 win against Pleasant Grove. She followed it up with another complete game victory, allowing one run in seven innings and racking up 11 strikeouts – in addition to drawing a walk and scoring a run – to defeat Elk Grove 2-1.
Randi Roelling, Central Catholic:
In a 2-1 win against Elk Grove, Rolling got the Raiders' only hit, drove in a run, scored their other run, and gave up zero earned runs with 17 K's in seven innings.
Isabella De Filippis, Santa Teresa:
De Filippis batted 7-8 with a long ball, four doubles, seven RBIs, and three runs scored for the 2-0 Saints.
Kealani Nitta, Franklin (Elk Grove):
Nitta batted 7-8 with a pair of triples in two games last week, scoring five runs.
Shelby Morse, Vintage:
Morse helped guide the Crushers to a 4-0 week by throwing nine innings with only one earned run allowed and batting 7-13 with two homers, two walks, and six RBIs.
Brinnon Biegel, Sierra Pacific:
In a 6-0 win over Corcoran, Biegel hit 3-4 with a home run, a double, a walk, and three RBIs, and hurled a three-hit shutout with 12 K's in the circle.
Morgan Hunter, Monache:
Hunter hit 3-8 with two home runs and a walk, and threw 13 innings with just one earned run allowed to steer the Marauders to a 2-0 record.
Riley Wickum, Sutter:
Wickum guided the Huskies to a crucial two-game sweep of Wheatland by throwing complete games with a total of zero earned runs and 21 K's, and also batting 4-7 with three RBIs.
Shannon Keighran, Saint Francis (Mountain View):
Keighran pitched five perfect innings with 10 K's against St. Ignatius and batted 5-6 with two doubles and four RBIs for the 2-0 Lancers.
Makayla Davila, Fresno Christian:
Davila threw a complete game shutout and hit 4-5 with two doubles, three RBIs, and four runs in a blowout of Summit Charter Collegiate Academy.
Ava Tingey, Lincoln (Lincoln):
Tingey hit 6-8 with three RBIs, drew a walk, and scored six times in a pair of blowout wins.
Savannah Warman, Union Mine:
Warman hit 5-9 with two doubles and five RBIs, and scored four runs in a two-game sweep of Rosemont.
Elon Butler, Archbishop Mitty:
Butler went 4-8 with two homers, 10 RBIs, and four runs scored in a pair of blowout wins.
Haley Ocumen, Willow Glen:
Ocumen hit 6-8 with three extra-base hits, driving in three runs and scoring four times for the 2-0 Rams.
Lluvia Limon, Mt. Pleasant:
Limon batted 7-9 with five RBIs and scored three runs for the 2-0 Cardinals.
Sree Sareday, Los Gatos:
Sareday hit 6-8 with four extra-base hits and scored three runs for the 2-0 Wildcats.
Michelle Hara, South San Francisco:
In three games, Hara hit 9-13 with a home run, a triple, and six runs scored, and also got a win in the circle.
Sarissa Block, Carlmont:
Block 6-9 with a long ball and four doubles plus four RBIs and five runs scored in two games.
Adyson Kim, Mills:
Kim hit 9-13 two homers and six total extra-base hits, three walks, eight RBIs, and seven runs scored to help lead the Vikings to a 4-0 week.
Ahmiya Noriega, Silver Creek:
Noriega went 5-7 at the plate with a home run, a double, three RBIs, and three runs in two games.
Natalie Dixon, Del Mar:
Dixon hit 6-8 with a walk in two games, driving in four runs and coming around to score six times.
BASEBALL:
Wesley Whitaker, Oakland Tech:
In a pair of blowout wins, Whitaker hit a perfect 6-6 with a homer and three doubles, driving in 10 runs and coming around to score every time he reached base.
Miguel Ramos, Rodriguez:
Ramos helped lead the Mustangs to a pair of playoff wins going 6-7 with four extra-base hits, six RBIs, and three runs scored.
Will Gagnon, Reedley:
Gagnon threw a two-hit shutout with 13 K's against Sunnyside and hit 3-6 with two doubles, three walks, four RBIs, and six runs scored for the 2-0 Pirates.
Cayden Munster, Clovis West:
Munster helped led the Golden Eagles take two games out of three against Clovis batting 6-9 with two walks and eight RBIs.
Caleb Gillem, Bishop Union:
Gillem hit 5-6 with a home run, a walk, six RBIs, and four runs scored for the 2-0 Broncos.
Mitchell Parsons, Mammoth:
Parsons went 4-6 and walked twice in two games, driving in four runs and coming around to score all six times he reached base.
Blake Schaaf, Head-Royce:
Schaaf hit 6-11 with two dingers, a double, a walk, eight RBIs, and seven runs scored for the 3-0 Jayhawks, and also mixed in a perfect inning on the mound with two strikeouts.
Eric Segura, Soledad:
Segura pitched a two-hitter with and earned runs and 14 strikeouts against Alisal, and hit 5-7 with two triples, a double, three RBIs, and three runs scored in two games, both wins.
Enrique Mandez, James Lick:
Mandez batted 6-8 with a double, a triple, and six RBIs in two routs of Mt. Pleasant.
Myles Potter, Gunderson:
Potter went 4-4 with a home run, two doubles, and three RBIs in the Grizzlies' only game last week, a blowout win against Overfelt.
Sam Young, Crystal Springs Uplands:
Young hit 5-9 with three walks, stole three bases, and scored eight times for the 3-0 Gryphons.
Xavier Nelson, Rancho San Juan:
Nelson went 5-6 at bat with two triples, a double, three walks, four RBIs, and six runs scored in a two-game sweep of Everett Alvarez.
Michael J Ryan, Gridley:
Ryan batted 5-7 with two long balls, a double, three walks, six RBIs, three stolen bags, and four runs scored for the 2-0 Bulldogs,
