Two rushing touchdowns from quarterback Damian Cabrera clinched the Garfield win

LOS ANGELES — Friday night's East LA Classic rivalry football game between Garfield and Roosevelt had it all.

45,000 fans packed inside the LA Coliseum to watch, the game was close and the Black Eyed Peas performed at halftime.

When the dust settled, Garfield walked away with a 16-8 win thanks to two rushing touchdowns from quarterback Damian Cabrera and a strong defensive performance.

"Our defensive staff does an amazing job and they prepared for this moment," Garfield head coach Lorenzo Hernandez said. "This was great."
