PHOTOS: Ashton Hardaway, Bronny James help No. 4 Sierra Canyon past San Joaquin Memorial
FRESNO, Calif. — A crowd of 7,000 packed into the Save Mart Center Saturday for a matchup between the No. 4 ranked Sierra Canyon Trail Blazers and San Joaquin Memorial Panthers-Fresno.
The game was the night cap of the nine-game Heart of California Basketball Classic.
While Memorial gave a valiant effort led by a game-high 14 points from Amari Carraway, Sierra Canyon used a 11-2 run at the end of the first half to take a 10-point halftime lead and held on for a 53-44 win.
Ashton Hardaway led the Trail Blazers with 12 points, while Jimmy Oladokun added 11 points and Isaiah Elohim finished with nine points.
Bronny James, son of LeBron James, ended the game with 5 points. Mike Davis Jr. finished with 10 points as well for Memorial.
The Trailblazers moved to 4-1 with the victory and will host St. Joseph-Santa Maria on Tuesday. Memorial falls to 1-1 on the season and will return to the court on Tuesday against Central High School (Fresno).
