Updated CIF Southern California softball regional playoff brackets: 4 of 5 championship games set

Top seeds Poway (Division 1), Otay Ranch (D3), Santa Paula (D4) and Verdugo Hills (D5) all advance to finals after semifinal wins

The 2023 CIF Southern California softball regional playoff brackets have been updated. 

Top seeds Poway (Division 1), Otay Ranch-Chula Vista (D3), Santa Paula (D4) and Verdugo Hills-Tujunga (D5) all advanced via semifinal wins. 

In Division 1, Poway (28-3) takes on defending champion Oaks Christian (30-2-1) for the title after the two teams won decisive games by a combined score of 18-2. 

In Division 2, fifth-seed Santiago upset No. 1 California-Whittier 6-5 and will play the winner of Friday's game between second seed Capistrano Valley and No. 3 El Capitan.

Defending champions are Oaks Christian (D1), Mater Dei Catholic (D2), St. Anthony (D3), Orange Cove (D4) and Caruthers (D5). 

Several Southern Section champions and regional-eligible teams opted out due to school graduation and ASA softball commitments.
