The 2023 H.O.P.E. Showcase – which is the Fifth Annual installment – will take place Oct. 6, 7, and 8 at Cypress College. As usual, the showcase features the majority of the top girls basketball teams in Southern California, several of the best teams in NorCal, and some formidable out-of-state squads as well.
This is the first time that the event is being held at Cypress College. With two courts available, the showcase will have two games going at a time for the majority of the weekend.
Among the Southern Section teams attending are six of last season's eight Open Division teams: Etiwanda, Mater Dei, Sage Hill, Ontario Christian, Santiago (Corona), and Bishop Montgomery. Many of the rest of the best in the CIFSS will be there too, including – but not limited to – Corona Centennial, Brentwood School, Chaminade, San Juan Hills, Rosary Academy, Long Beach Poly, Lynwood, Orangewood Academy, San Clemente, Crean Lutheran, and Leuzinger.
Also participating are the last three L.A. City Section Open Division champions – Westchester, Birmingham, and Palisades – and perennial San Diego Section powerhouses La Jolla Country Day, Cathedral Catholic, and Bonita Vista.
Representing Northern California are reigning Central Section champion Clovis West, reigning Oakland Section/State Division I champion Oakland Tech, and a handful of the rest of the best teams across NorCal's sections.
Bishop Gorman (NV), Liberty (NV), and Bella Vista Prep (AZ) are some of the big-name programs coming from across state lines.
