Gardena stuns San Pedro and flies up the rankings this week. Dymally-Crenshaw on Friday could be a Coliseum League title decider.

Los Angeles City Section football Top 10 rankings as of Oct. 2, heading into Week 7.

(All Week 7 games are schedule for Friday at 7 p.m. unless stated otherwise)

1. Birmingham (4-2)

The Patriots rolled over Granada Hills 31-0 thanks to the help of Javen Hall, who recently became eligible after transferring from El Camino Real. He scored three touchdowns (two rushing); at Chatsworth; No. 1

2. Carson (7-0)

I've seen enough. The Colts move up to No. 2 in the City after beating Narbonne 27-7 led by Jerry Misaalefua's 127 yards rushing and two touchdowns. The senior two-way player - also playing linebacker - could be the best player in the City; at San Pedro; No. 3 ↑

Birmingham gets 'Reggie Bush-LenDale White' effect with Fowles and Hewitt

3. Garfield (6-1)

The Bulldogs bulldoze Bell 68-6; vs. South East; No. 2 ↓

4. Gardena (7-0)

It's time to give Gardena its flowers after taking down San Pedro, 12-7, last week. Welcome to the Top 5, Panthers. The win over San Pedro was the first since 2004 for Gardena, but can it move to 2-0 in the Marine League?; at Banning; Unranked ↑

5. Dymally (5-1)

The Challengers move to 1-0 in the Coliseum League after taking down Fremont, 55-6. Bryant Collins rushed for 120 yards and three scores on five carries; vs. Crenshaw; No. 6 ↑

6. Palisades (4-2)

The Dolphins beat Hamilton 27-0 in their Western League opener; vs. Fairfax; No. 7 ↑

7. Granada Hills (3-2-1)

The Highlanders fall to Birmingham 31-0, but can still finish second in the West Valley League. A win over Cleveland would be a great start to that goal, but the Cavs are a tough out; at Cleveland; No. 5 ↓

Dymally on the rise – with big goals – despite inner city challenges

8. Banning

The Pilots are coming off a bye week; vs. Narbonne, Thursday; No. 8

9. Franklin (3-2-1)

The Panthers rout winless Torres 48-0; at Lincoln; No. 10 ↑

10. Cleveland (5-1)

The Cavs top Taft 40-28 in their West Valley League opener. New transfer QB Isaac Delgado threw for four TDs in the team's debut. Three were to standout Kory Hall. A big game against Granada Hills on Friday could put Cleveland in the driver's seat for a top spot in league play; vs. Granada Hills; No. 10
