Viliamu-Asa had a sack during Friday's shutout of top-ranked Mater Dei

BELLFLOWER, CALIFORNIA — St. John Bosco made a big statement on Friday night, beating Trinity League rival Mater Dei 28-0. The Monarchs entered the game ranked as the nation's top team but were unable to score for the first time since the 2011 season.

Leading the charge on the defensive side for the Braves was Notre Dame commit Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa. The senior linebacker registered a sack on the opening series of the game, leading to one several three-and-outs that the Monarchs had on the night.

The Braves lost to Kahuku (HI) last month but have since bounced back with three straight victories and now sit in position to capture the Trinity League title with two games remaining in the regular season.

After the game, Viliamu-Asa talked about his experience in the rivalry game with Mater Dei as well as what he'll bring as a linebacker to Notre Dame next season.
