California high school football recruiting notebook: Washington hosts top California recruits
Corona Centennial junior quarterback Husan Longstreet made his way up to Washington last weekend for an unofficial visit that included seeing the Huskies remain unbeaten with a dramatic victory over Oregon.
The nation's fourth ranked quarterback prospect in the class of 2025 has thrown 15 touchdown passes and rushed for five more this season. He's in his first season with the Huskies after transferring in from Inglewood during the offseason.
Among the huge visitor list to Washington were many of California's top recruits in both the class of 2024 and 2025. That included Jerico Johnson (Armijo), Dijon Lee (Mission Viejo), Phillip Bell (Mission Viejo), Marco Jones (San Ramon Valley), Jackson Kollock (Laguna Beach) and many more.
Defensive stars shine for St. John Bosco
St. John Bosco made a statement on Friday night, shutting out Mater Dei 28-0 in their annual Trinity League matchup. The Monarchs entered the game ranked as the nation's top team but failed to score for the first time since 2011.
The St. John Bosco defense, littered with committed prospects, held Mater Dei to 182 total yards. The Braves had three sacks and intercepted Mater Dei on the game's final drive.
Seniors Kingston Viliamu-Asa (Notre Dame), Marcelles Williams (USC) and Khmori House (Washington) had a combined 28 tackles in the shutout.

Arizona continues to add California talent
The Arizona Wildcats have made California a priority. Following last week's impressive 44-6 victory at Washington State, the Wildcats have added more talent from the Golden State.
Long Beach Poly class of 2024 defensive back Quimari Shemwell committed to Arizona on Tuesday, choosing the Wildcats a month after receiving the scholarship offer. Shemwell has had a breakout senior season, leading to offers from Utah, UConn, Washington State and San Jose State in addition to Arizona.
Shemwell is the 12th prospect from California in Arizona's 2024 recruiting class.
So far this season, he has 29 tackles, three interceptions, two forced fumbles and a sack for the 7-1 Jackrabbits.
